Bright Spot in the Sky

The NW is definitely the best place on this plant, but let me tell you, in January, when you haven't seen the sun in what feels like months, it begins to look a lot less appealing. I say that, not because I have fallen out of love with my beautiful Seattle, but because I am down here in Arizona. I know, fair weather fan! What can I say? It is true. The sun is shining; I am wearing Reefs and am about to go for a walk in shorts and a T-shirt.

It appalls me to even think the thought, but I miss, ever so slightly, I mean like on the atomic level, Iraq. (I can't believe those words came out of my mouth.) But I am an honest Joe and I will say that Iraq in Dec and Jan is not that bad of a place. I stood out on the tarmac on various mornings and sucked in the clean crisp air. Looked up into a cloudless blue sky and smiled. Most of that joy came from the comparison less than the reality. When a place is so miserable, a little relief becomes a great delight.

It is just like with the NW. You must endure the not so harsh and dreary winters, because without them, the spring, summer and falls wouldn't be what they are. I truly believe that Washingtonians are the most grateful people on the planet. That is why I love it there.

Freedom!!!

Once again, I fall victim to the computer gods. I don't know how it happened this time, but I again, lost my last message. If this continues I will be selling my laptop, moving to Northern Idaho and starting a cult. Just kidding. I would much rather move to Montana to be closer to my brother.

And again, what I was saying was...

In the name of the best movie ever, Braveheart, I now proclaim my freedom. There are very few things that I find note worthy but this is one. "Passion cost me to much to bestow it on every trifle." A great quote from where I don't know, but I have used it often for many years. What I am trying to say is that today, for the first time since September of 1994, I am debt free. I hold now the freedom that most people should have, to not be obligated to another. As most of you well know and are probably experiencing personally, today, debt is a part of life.

Today, I owe no more to loans, credit cards, schools, or parents. I am free. So you may ask, "What now, Jason?" Well...

I think I am going to buy a car?

In the beginning...

In the beginning...

Oh, the agony. I went to spell check my first entry only to be foiled by Microsoft once again. I had to allow pop-ups from this site and in doing so, I erased my first entire. I hate computers. Just kidding, nice computer!!

Anyway, I was saying that I am entering the 21st Century finally and am doing as everyone else is and starting a blog, hey all the kids are doing it, right? This blog, may or may not ever see the light of the World Wide Web, and if it is being especially good, I might attach a link to my official website and then this thing will really be rocking. But that is not going to happen tonight.

It is already very late and I have spent an unusual amount of time sitting at this desk. For those of you that know, that means I have spent a lot of time doing nothing. But such is the life of a government employee.

So for everyone out there, from the mouth of Garrison Keillor, "Be well, do good work, and keep in touch."
